As of Firefox 3.5, when you click on "Create or Select your own directory" you will not see the startup animation and the Victory screen. The install/Update has worked, it just that opening File/Directory dialog box interfers with the install control flow.

If you have never installed an extension before these instructions are for you. If you have installed extensions, then the only difference here is a) you download the extension (an XPI file) and you install it by going to File -> Open and b) its a 2 phase install. After you restart Firefox, you pick a directory and the second phase installs the content files on your hard drive.

In all cases, when installing extensions its prudent to close all but one Firefox window, and in that window all but one tab.

Step 1 - Download the Firefox extension.

Right click on the Download gj53run_1.0.0. { WIN or MAC }.xpi link below and Save Link As to a temporary location.

Download the Windows version gj53run_1.0.0.WIN.xpi

Download the MAC and Linux version gj53run_1.0.0.MAC.xpi

Step 2 - Install the extension.

Step 2a - Firefox - go to File menu.

Select open file.

Navigate to where you saved gj53run_1.0.0. { WIN or MAC } .xpi and click on it.

It should ask you if you want to install gj53run.

Select of course, that's why you're reading this.

Restart Firefox.

Step 2b - When you restart FireFox you should see a dialog box that asks you to Select a directory for the FastTrack Content.

The content path is needed to connect the Firefox extension and the content.

You should see a very short animation followed by getting started instructions.

If you see file not found, you have not set the content directory correctly.

Do we have Victory?

Did you did click on the "How to Navigate" and "Test Drive" buttons?

A lot of the other menu items are missing at this point.

Another way to get to options is:

From the main menu across the top - Select Tools

Select extensions

Select gj53run

Click options button

Update Instructions


 Step 1 - Download the new xpi file
 go to the download link

 Step 2 - re - install gj53run

 Step 3 - You will be prompted to Select your FastTrack Content directory.
   You can use your existing content directory or select a new one.

If you select a new directory, you will not see the initial install animation

Uninstall Instructions

 To uninstall gj53run - The FastTrack on Learning to Cook
 start Firefox
  from the main menu across the top select Tools
   select extensions
    select gj53run
     click the uninstall button

To uninstall the content, delete the FastTrack Content directory
This is a little different animal than most extensions in that there will be a lot more dynamic content
